There was a joyful gathering of four thousand and more catholic faithful and other people of different religions to meet and greet Bishop Franco on 17th October 2018. Bishop Franco just returned to the diocese after he was granted a bail by the High Court of Kerala in the rape accused case by a nun in Kerala. He came back to the diocese after having spent 21 days in prison. The people of God were happy to meet the shepherd, who was accused and imprisoned for many days in the jail of Palai, Kerala. The faithful garlanded Bishop Franco and spread flowers as they shouted “Bishop Franco Zindabad”. It was a real expression of love from the part of the people gathered. Bishop Franco then celebrated a thanksgiving Eucharist at Sacred Heart Church, Jalandhar City along with a big number of priests, religious men and women and the lay faithful. When the Mass finished, Bishop addressed the congregation and explained to them what actually happened for the last few days with him. He urged them to pray so that the truth may be revealed and his reputation is gained back. Let us consider whatever happened as the will and wish of God, who chose me to suffer, said the Bishop in his address. People gave bouquets and rose flowers and assured their prayers for the Lordship.
