Bishop Agnelo Gracias, the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Jalandhar welcomed Rev. Fr. Tony Kochumalayil CRM and Rev. Fr. Antony Paravettil CRM to the Diocese of Jalandhar as they wish to render their service for the people of God in Punjab. Adorno Fathers (CRM) is a religious Order of priests and brothers founded by Saint Francis Caracciolo, Venerable Augustine Adorno and Father Fabrizio Caracciolo in 1588. By solemnly professing the four vows of Poverty, Castity, Obedience and Not Seeking Ecclesiastical Dignities, we follow the example of Jesus Christ who Himself was poor, chaste, obedient and humble. In 1993 Adorno Fathers started their mission in India. They opened their first house ‘Adorno Ashram’ at Mallikassery in the diocese of Palai. Rev. Fr. Mario Salon, then Superior General and General Council decided to begin communities in India. Rev. Fr. John Paul a zealous and dedicated missionary was the first superior and he guided the community until 2009. Many boys joined our Order and Order started flourishing. Then Rev. Fr. Thomas Barbona took charge as the Delegate of Superior General and Rev. Fr. Robin Mampallithadathil as the Superior. At present the congregation have four houses in India – Adorno Seminary (Mallikassery, Kerala), Villa Santa Maria (Kiliyanthara, Kerala), Adorno Bhavan (Bangalore, Karnataka), Mission (Arunachal Pradesh). At present these four houses belong to Santhom Indo-German Delegation. And their Central house is Adorno Bhavan, Bangalore. Diocese of Jalandhar wholeheartedly welcomes them to the diocese and wishing them all the best for their fruitful pastoral ministry.
