As per the traditions of every year, the people of God along with the Priests and Religious Men & Women of the diocese of Jalandhar gathered at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Jalandhar Cantonment to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Peace. It is the custom that on every first Sunday of November, the feast is being celebrated in a most solemn manner, where thousands of faithful gather in large number to seek the intercession of the Blessed Mother. In preparation to the feast, there were nine days of Novena, Bible Convention, Holy Mass and Rosary procession to the Main Grotto of Our Lady. As the tradition goes on, there is no Sunday Mass celebrated in any of the parish of the diocese, And all the priests and the people take part in the Liturgical Celebration, which is solemnly held at the premises of Cathedral. It was the first ever large gathering which Bishop Agnelo witnessed as he celebrated the Punjabi Mass for thousands of people. He was elated to see such a crowd who came from different parts of Punjab. All the people are served meals (Langar) irrespective of religion, who have come to the Cathedral on this day to have a sight of Blessed Mother. Fr. John Teja, the Parish Priest of St. Joseph Church, Bhogpur, preached homily on this occasion. At the beginning of the celebration, Monsignor Michael Ani, the Rector of the Cathedral welcomed His Excellency Bishop Agnelo with a bouquet of flowers and all the priests, sisters and the people of God.
